In 2009, he organized and executed a speaking tour of the mainland United States, driving 13,934 miles in a hybrid car and doing 41 events in 39 cities.  He was concerned about polarization and hysteria – which seemed to be spiraling out of control – and the theme of his talks was ‘Re-humanization of the relationship between America and the Muslim world.’

The acclaim for his very entertaining ‘narrative performance’ was astonishing (see link below).

However, once his tour was underway, he received numerous e-mails from people around America – asking when he was coming to their city, and even complaining that their city was not included in the tour.  He promised to do a tour again, with even wider coverage.

2012 50-City Speaking Tour of Entire Mainland United States

50-city

Below is the plan for the 2012  50-city US speaking tour.

The title of the narrative performance is:
‘Islam and the West: a Personal Journey’

Please note that Imran does not defend/attack any particular religious or political viewpoint. His narrative performance is engaging, funny, intelligent, thought-provoking, self-critical, universal and, ultimately, moving.

We are seeking venues in the cities/states shown below.  Any suitable venue will be considered, but preferably the event should be open to the public.  A local bookstore should be permitted to sell copies of The Perfect Gentleman at the event.

There is no fee for this highly insightful, moving and hilarious performance – which is suitable for a general audience (no bad language) – and questions will be taken afterwards.

Please contact his organizer to discuss a venue in your city:  suzanne.devereux@unimagined.org

mran Ahmad – a British Muslim of Pakistani origin, based in London – is the author of the highly acclaimed narrative non-fiction book, Unimagined, now being published in the US as The Perfect Gentleman - a Muslim boy meets the West.
Testimonials

This was an amazing talk.  Imran weaved Shakespeare, re-humanization, anthropology, current affairs, Islam and the West, geo-politics, corporate life, self-help, spirituality, motivation and following your dream into a wonderful, engaging and hilarious narrative that had me riveted.
