SPEAKING TOPICS
Imran’s ‘narrative performances’ (50-90 minutes, as required) are engaging, riveting, insightful, humorous, moving and thoroughly enjoyable, and come under the umbrellas of:
• Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging (a fresh take on this which is from lived experience, fascinating, non-prescriptive and surprisingly enjoyable – even for audience members who might be somewhat indifferent to DEIB)
• Navigating Career and Life Challenges (‘This, too, shall pass …’) (‘Life can turn on a dime.’) (How the Global Financial Crisis of 2008 completely changed my path.)
• Motivational (but with a low point that most people can relate to personally, rather than something uncomfortably catastrophic)
• Some Rules for Life (elements of Self-Help and Spirituality)
• Writing a Book and Getting Published ('The Unimagined Path to Publication')
• Islam and the West (and Islamophobia) (sounds a bit serious, but he is far from sombre)
• Life Before and After 9/11 and 7/7
• Storytelling
• Optimism/Pessimism

BACKGROUND
Imran Ahmad is the author of The Perfect Gentleman – a Muslim boy meets the West (originally published as Unimagined) (the first book of the Unimagined Trilogy), a beguiling multi-layered social commentary, in the guise of a memoir, that has touched the hearts of readers all over the world and received a truly astonishing list of endorsements from all quarters across the political, religious, ethnic, and cultural spectrums.
Imran was born in Pakistan, grew up in London, went to university in Scotland, and he has lived ‘overseas’ for work several times (Nigeria, United States, Malaysia). He has enjoyed an extraordinary, challenging, diverse and often stressful, global corporate and consulting career in major corporations and consulting firms (Unilever, Oracle, Honeywell, General Electric … KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young) which has taken him around the world (all over Europe, all over the United States, India, Southeast Asia, Aus/NZ, Latin America, Africa) … but he has managed to write books along the way (and learned many Life Lessons and a lot about the Publishing industry). Most recently, he was an organiser, host, presenter, and moderator of the iconic Khazanah Megatrends Forum (KMF) – Malaysia’s leading annual gathering to discuss global trends in business, economics, and culture. So good was his reputation in this role that the Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia asked the Managing Director of Khazanah to loan Imran to the Swedes to host/moderate the Sweden-Southeast Asia Business Summit 2018. (He wasn't paid any extra for this, but there was free Swedish food, and he almost managed to steal the amazing new Volvo SUV that was on display.) Imran was also producer of many of the creative events for KMF.
Once his first book was published, he was invited to multiple literary festivals and everyone (including Imran) discovered that he is a brilliant, engaging, humorous speaker. His performance at each literary festival was witnessed by the Festival Director of another festival, and she (always a she) would invite him to her festival. This was purely on the merit of his performances. Thus, he was invited to Edinburgh (twice for same book), Bath, Sydney, Bali (twice for same book), Perth, Byron Bay (Number One Bestseller), Dubai, and multiple UK regional festivals.
Imran has also executed two speaking tour road trips of the entire mainland United States (40 and 50 cities respectively, driving over 20,000 km each time), with venues including the Clinton School of Public Service, the Carter Center, the Washington Ethical Society, Unity Temple in Chicago, etc. His main themes for these talks were 'Re-humanisation' and there really is no (sinister) 'Other'.
Imran is now an established and sought-after speaker at UK schools – delivering to audiences from age fourteen up to and including the teachers, who are also mesmerised – for which the feedback has been superlative. As he notes: ‘If you can hold the attention of restless teenagers for an hour and get glowing feedback, corporate grown-ups are no problem at all!’
Imran has appeared on BBC television, Sky television, SBS television (Australia), Voice of America television, National Public Radio, BBC radio (many times), Radio Australia, ABC Radio National (Australia), NTV7 (Malaysia). He was a Founding Trustee of British Muslims for Secular Democracy – a non-profit with the objective of keeping religion and theology out of the democratic and political processes.

His approach is unique: a blend of humour, insight, and personal experience, making his performances both enjoyable and thought-provoking.
The value of Imran's services lies in his ability to captivate and inspire audiences, often challenging them to re-evaluate their perspectives on complex issues. His experiences growing up as a Muslim in the West – along with his global corporate career, and his highly acclaimed writing – offer fresh perspectives on DEIB that are both fascinating and surprisingly enjoyable – even for those who might be 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 to these topics. His 'narrative performances' spark meaningful discussions and offer practical advice for overcoming life's challenges.
For corporate entity or institution seeking to inspire and challenge its people – these organisations will appreciate Imran's unique blend of humour and insight, and his ability to tackle complex topics in an engaging and accessible manner. His performance would also be an 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗴𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 in a 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 (including those 𝘴𝘭𝘰𝘸 ... 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴𝘺 ... 𝘢𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘳-𝘭𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘩 slots).
Imran: "Well, I'm not going to argue with that. Thank you, Computer. Do I call you 'Computer', like in Star Trek?"
